In amongst some wet and very windy weather, Saturday January 17th was a superbly sunny day. Ideal for my first steam photos of the year: following 35028 "Clan Line" on a VSOE trip from Victoria to Southampton Docks. next

35028 heads up past Deepcut, (just after Pirbight Junction), on the climb towards the summit at MP 31. next








35028 passing Worting Junction 35028 hauling the VSOE Pullman train plus a non working diesel loco, (needed to reverse the train at Southampton Docks), had stopped at Winchfield to take water. Allowing me to get ahead of the train before it passed Worting Junction, still in rare January sunshine.

35028 passing Worting Junction The total load behind the tender was a little over 600 tons. Considerably more than the class used to regularly haul over this stretch in normal steam days.
