| On a day that started frosty and sunny, but suddenly became cloudy when a camera was pointed at Clan Line, the lovely "super clean" pacific worked a VSOE lunch special from Victoria via Guildfrod and back to Victoria.

After an astonishingly clear run around the M25 from home I had ages to wait in lovely winter sunshine. I enjoyed a nice walk and my lunch on the lovely day. A lovely sunny day that ended minutes before Clan Line got to Mayford, (Worplesdon), near Woking! next
Well, you can't win the all! The light may have collapsed, but 35028 looked superb as always, an enormous credit to the Merchant Navy Locomrtive Preservation Society. next
Gentle driving got me to the three arch bridge near Shere at the first summit of the mainly 1/100 grade of Gomshall bank. In even worse light than at Mayford! next
Bad light it may have been. But that was more than made up for by a storming performance of 35028 as she attacked the grade with some vigour! next
Standing on the bridge gave the enormous benefit of being right over the top of the tremendous roar from 35028 as she stormed over the first summit of Gomshall Bank. With the trailing diesel doing little or nothing to help. next
