| For a change I decided to have a run behind 34067. On the 8th August train from Victoria, out via Virginia Water, through Woking, Guildford and over the Surrey Hills. Before returning to London via Redhill. Here 34067 waits at Victoria station.

| I was invited up into the cab of 34067 at Victoria. Greeted by that familiar smell of steam, coal and oil!

| A good fire had been built up prior to our departure from London, Victoria.

| Steam pressure was right up. Maybe not needed for the first part of the journey. But certainly needed for a great climb of Gomshall Bank. Starting from the water stop at Shalford, Tangmere was to go over the top of the main summit at 42 mph, hauling a nine car train.

| All too soon the trip was over, and 34067 was back at Victoria.
