35028 is the loco booked to haul the heavy VSOE train on SR rails: no surprise as the loaded train is 530 tons behind the tender. And on days, as here, when a non working diesel loco is attached, (as insurance against rail problems caused by leaf fall?), that load is 630 tons. But on this day the leaves were still on the trees giving a colourful backdrop to this lovely and very powerful pacific just to the East of Virginia Water, on a day that the VSOE was on a "Surrey Hills" lunchtime round trip from Victoria - Guildford - Redhill -Victoria.
